About Katherine Nye
Katherine Nye made history as just the second American woman to earn a gold or silver medal in weightlifting. Nye took the silver in the 76 kg competition at the Tokyo Games. She also has a gold medal from the 2019 World Championships in the 71 kg division. Nye was the youngest U.S. woman to become a world champion weightlifter. That year, she was named IWF Lifter of the Year as well. Outside of competition, Nye speaks openly about her journey with mental health and being diagnosed as bipolar.
