Katharine Berkoff

Katharine Berkoff stands as an American swimmer who has established herself as one of the world's leading backstroke competitors. Katharine Berkoff entered the world on January 28, 2001, in Missoula Montana while her father David Berkoff who won four Olympic medals motivated her to start swimming at a young age. Katharine Berkoff attended Hellgate High School in Missoula before moving on to swim at North Carolina State University.

Berkoff established herself as a top swimmer at NC State University through her 30 All-American awards and five NCAA championship titles. Through her school records in various events she proved herself as a dominant force in college swimming.

Berkoff started her Olympic career at the 2024 Paris Games by winning a bronze medal in the women's 100-meter backstroke with a time of 57.98 seconds. She achieved the same Olympic bronze medal in the 100-meter backstroke at the 2024 Paris Games as her father did during the 1992 Barcelona Olympics thus creating a remarkable family milestone.

Berkoff achieved success in international competitions alongside her Olympic victories. She won gold in the women's 4x100-meter medley relay and bronze in the 100-meter backstroke during the 2023 World Championships. She established a new world record when she swam the 4x100-meter freestyle relay at the 2024 Short Course World Championships.

The public recognizes Berkoff for his community service activities in addition to his athletic accomplishments. She regularly visits Missoula to connect with young swimmers while offering guidance to upcoming athletes.
