About Kaitlyn Lawes
Kaitlyn Lawes was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and burst onto the scene in the curling world in 2008 when she won the Canadian Junior Championship. Later that year she represented Canada at the World Juniors and brought home a bronze medal. Eventually she joined the Canadian National Team and helped her country to a bronze medal in 2012 and silver medals in 2011 and 2013 at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. In 2013 she won gold at the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials and went on to capture a gold medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympic games. Thus far in her career she has been a member of six different club teams that have led her to win six grand slam titles and earn a No. 1 CCA ranking three times. Lawes is currently a member of the Winnipeg, MB club team and is considered to be one of the top curlers in the world.
