J.P. Hayes Biography

J. P. Hayes is a professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. Hayes attended the University of Texas at El Paso where he played on the golf team. He graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1988 and turned professional in 1990. After earning his tour card at Qualifying school, Hayes began to play on the PGA Tour in 1992. After failing to finish high enough on the money list in 1993 and 1994, Hayes had to play on the Nike Tour. Hayes played on the PGA Tour in 1995, but dropped back down to the Nike Tour in 1996. Hayes has won 2 PGA Tour events; the 1998 Buick Classic and the 2002 John Deere Classic. In 2012, Hayes suffered a knee injury that put his career on hold. Since he could not play, Hayes served as a motivational speaker for the Cedarburg High School boy’s golf team.
