Josh Beckett

Josh Beckett enjoyed a long and successful major league career on the mound, earning three all-star selections and helping the Florida Marlins to a World Series title in 2003 and the Boston Red Sox to a World Series title in 2007.

Beckett got his start in professional baseball after a standout prep career at Spring High School in Spring, Texas, where he was named the top high school prospect in the country after posting a 13-2 record with over two strikeouts an inning as a senior. In the 1999 MLB Draft, Beckett was selected in the first round with the No. 2 overall pick by the Florida Marlins. Upon signing a four-year, $7 million contract with a $3.625 million signing bonus he entered the minor leagues for two seasons before making his MLB debut in 2001.

Beckett played the first five seasons of his career in Florida before being traded to the Boston Red Sox in 2005. In 2007, he won 20 games for the first time in his career, earning All-Star honors and ALCS MVP honors en route to leading the Red Sox to a World Series title. In 2010 Beckett signed an extension with the Red Sox and was subsequently traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2012.
