Jose Maria Olazabal

Jose Maria Olazabal grew up in Gipuzkoa, Spain and made a name for himself on the junior circuit after winning the 1984 British Amateur Championship at the age of 18. The following year he turned pro and finished second on the 1986 European Tour Order of Merit at the age of 20. During his nine seasons on the European Tour he finished in the top-ten in the standings seven times and was featured in the top-tten of the Official World Golf Rankings for over 300 weeks. In 1994 he won the Masters Tournament and would go on to capture a second green jacket in 1999. His other notable major tournament finishes include two third place finishes at The Open Championship in 1992 and 2005, a fourth place finish at the 2000 PGA Championship and two eighth place finishes as the 1990 and 1991 U.S. Opens. During his long and successful career he has won 30 professional tournaments including six wins on the PGA Tour. Among his many accomplishments he has been a part of five Ryder Cup Championship teams in 1987, 1989, 1997, 2006 and 2012 while representing the European team.
