About Jimmy Shea Jr.
Jimmy Shea is a third generation Olympian and captured a gold medal at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games in skeleton racing. From 1997 to 2000 he won a gold, silver, and bronze at the FIBT World Championships and also finished third in the men’s Skeleton World Cup in 1999 and 2001. In 2005 he retired as the only American to ever win a World Cup and World Championship in the sport of skeleton racing, and remains the most decorated American World Cup competitor ever. Shea’s decorated family history includes his grandfather winning two gold medals at the 1932 Winter Olympics in speed skating and his father competing in the 1964 Winter Olympic games as a part of the USA Ski Team. After his retirement, he founded The Shea Family Foundation with the mission to raise money to help kids in sports. He also serves on the board of Big Brothers and Big Sisters and Mountain Trails, which is the largest biking trail system in the country.
