About Chad Hedrick
Chad Hedrick is an inline and ice speed skater. Hedrick won 50 World Championships and in 2002, he switched from inline speed skating to ice speed skating after he saw Derek Parra win a medal at the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. In 2004, Hedrick won the 2004 World Allround Speed Skating Championships. On March 4, 2004, Hedrick won the gold medal in the 5,000 meters at the 2004 World Single Distance Championships. The following year, he successfully defended his 5,000 m world title. Hedrick is currently 3rd in the unofficial world rankings. During the 2006 Winter Olympics, Hedrick took home the gold medal in the 5,000 m race, the silver in the 10,000 m race, and the bronze medal in the 1500 m race. Hedrick competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics as well and he brought home the silver medal in the long-track team pursuit and the bronze medal in the 1,000 m race.
