Jeff Huson was previously recognized as a Major League Baseball utility player, serving as an infielder and designated hitter from 1988 to 2000. Huson was born in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1964 and grew up loving the sport of baseball. He excelled throughout his childhood and on his high school and college teams, pursuing a collegiate career at the University of Wyoming. In 1985, he was signed by the Montreal Expos as an amateur free agent but did not debut professionally with them until 1988. Over the course of his professional career, Huson batted in 150 runs and hit 8 home runs. He made appearances with the Expos, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, Milwaukee Brewers, Seattle Mariners, Anaheim Angels and Chicago Cubs. Huson is credited in playing in two of the most significant games of the late 20th century, including Cal Ripken Junior’s 131st consecutive game played and Nolan Ryan’s 7th career no hitter. Since retiring from his playing career in 2000, Huson has become a post-game commentator of the Colorado Rockies for Root Sports.
