About Jay Novacek
Jay Novacek earned five consecutive Pro-Bowl selections from 1991 to 1995 while playing for the tight end for the Dallas Cowboys. Prior to joining the Cowboys in 1990 he played for the Phoenix Cardinals for four seasons from 1985 to 1989. The Cardinals selected Novacek in the 6th round out of the University of Wyoming in 1985 where he was an All-American and also competed in track and field. Upon joining the Cardinals he served as a role player but really came into his own with the Cowboys, who utilized him to their benefit. During his time with the Cowboys he earned five All-Pro nods and also led the franchise to three Super Bowl titles. One could say that with his Cowboy background at the University of Wyoming that he was meant to have a star on his helmet in the NFL. For his contribution to athletics in his home state of Nebraska and at Wyoming he is a proud member of the Nebraska High School Hall of Fame, University of Wyoming Intercollegiate Athletic Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame.
