About Jay Harris
Jay Harris is one of the lead anchors for ESPN’s flagship show, SportsCenter. Prior to joining the Worldwide Leader in Sports, he worked as a weeknight news and sports anchor for WPGH-TV in Pittsburgh and also made regular radio appearances on stations to discuss the important topics of the day in the world of sports. Upon joining ESPN in 2003 he worked at ESPNEWS, but was promoted to the SportsCenter desk in 2006. Since that time he has been one of the faces of the network, appearing in the primetime slot each night and also making appearances on other popular shows like 30 for 30 update. His numerous broadcasting awards include the Robert Vann Award presented by the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation, an EXCEL Award from the Hampton Roads Black Media Professionals, a Silver World Medal from the New York Festivals, and an Emmy award for his work at ESPN. He has also received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Old Dominion University, where he graduated in 1987.
