Jaromir Jagr Biography

Jaromir Jagr has been one of the most popular hockey stars in the world for more than two decades.  After beginning his career in 1990 as the fifth overall selection of the Pittsburgh Penguins he quickly became one of the most respected players in the league.  During his first two seasons he helped the Penguins to consecutive Stanley Cup titles in route to winning the Art Ross Trophy as the NHL scoring champion five times, earning three Lester B. Pearson Awards as the leagues most outstanding player, and winning the Hart Memorial Trophy as the leagues most valuable player.

Over the course of his 24-year NHL career he has played for the Penguins, Capitals, Rangers, Flyers, Stars and Bruins before landing with the New Jersey Devils in 2013.  In addition to winning two Stanely Cup titles, he has also won two Ice Hockey World Championships and an Olympic Gold Medal as a member of the Czech Republic national team.  Currently, Jagr is tied for sixth all-time in career points, ranks seventh in goals scored, fourth in overtime goals and fifth in career shots on goal.  As a 12-time NHL All-Star, he is considered to be one of the best players of all-time.
