About Janell Burse
Janell Burse is the pride of Tulane University and has been one of the faces of the WNBA since joining the Minnesota Lynx as a first round selection in 2001. She played her first three seasons in the WNBA in Minnesota before being traded to the Seattle Storm in 2004, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise as she was a part of the Storm’s 2004 WNBA Championship run. From 2004 to 2009 she was one of the Storm’s most consistent players, averring over 10 points and 5 rebounds a game. In 2009 she decided to take her game overseas to play for the TS Wista CanPack Krakow, where she has continued her success over the last five seasons. In 2005 Burse bought a home in Louisiana and became one of the faces of the WNBA’s relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina, raising thousands of dollars for the rebuilding of New Orleans and to support the sheltering of those effected by the tragedy.
