Jacques Laperriere

Jacques Laperriere, originally named Joseph Jacques Hughes Laperriere at birth in 1941 in his hometown of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, is an ice hockey coach and former player. As a player, Laperriere was a member of the Montreal Canadians in the NHL for over a decade. He was a recipient of six prestigious Stanley Cups as a player and two Stanley Cup championships as a coach. While not many people can say that they have received that honor as both a player and a coach on multiple occasions, Laperriere has every reason to. He proved himself a dedicated, hard worker in addition to his raw talent for the sport and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1987. As a coach, Laperriere has shaped the lives of young atheltes with the Montreal Juniors and was the Canadiens assistant coach for sixteen years, during which he obtained his two Stanley Cup championship titles. Laperriere also spent time with the Boston Bruins and the New York Islanders coaching staff. He most recently became part of the New Jersey Devils organization in 2003 and currently serves as the special assignment coach for the Devils.
