About Bryan Trottier
To play 18 seasons in the NHL you have to be tough, skilled and respected. Hockey Hall of Famer Bryan Trottier is all of the above. From 1975 to 1994 Trottier led the New York Islanders to four Stanley Cup victories, the Pittsburgh Penguins to two Stanley Cup victories, and as if that was not enough he went on to win another Stanley Cup as an assistant coach with the Colorado Avalanche.
In 1975 Trottier made a name for himself by winning the Calder Memorial Trophy, presented to the leagues top rookie. He would go on to lead the league in scoring in 1979 and earn the Hart Memorial Trophy, given to the leagues MVP. Perhaps a better representation of who Trottier is as a player and as a man is the honor he earned in 1989, the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, which is given to the NHL player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and who has made significant humanitarian contribution to his community.
In 1997 Trottier was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame during his first year of eligibility. Currently he owns 19 NHL and franchise records for scoring. Since his retirement he has served as a motivational speaker and brand ambassador for several companies. He’s a true great, and one of the greatest of all-time.
