About Jacob deGrom
Jacob deGrom is a star pitcher for the Texas Rangers. DeGrom made his major league debut early in the 2014 season for the New York Mets and quickly made his mark. He finished his inaugural campaign 9-6 with a 2.69 ERA and 144 strikeouts in 140.1 innings. That stellar season led to National League Rookie of the Year honors. DeGrom was also twice named NL Rookie of the Month. He would follow that performance up with an even stronger sophomore season. DeGrom made his first All-Star team and finished the year 14-8 with a 2.54 ERA and 205 strikeouts in 191 innings. The Mets also had a resurgence of success, winning the NL East and making it to the World Series. He would prove clutch throughout the postseason, going 3-1 with a 2.88 ERA. DeGrom pitched collegiately at Stetson University and was a ninth-round pick of New York in 2010.
