About Jack Sikma
Jack Sikma is a legend of Seattle basketball, who was honored with the hightest recognition in 2019. He was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Sikma was selected to seven straight All-Star teams from 1979-1985 while with the Seattle SuperSonics. Despite playing at NAIA Illinois-Wesleyan in college, he still was taken eighth overall by the SuperSonics in 1977. Sikma made an immediate splash, being named to the All-Rookie Team in 1978. A year later, he made his first All-Star team and helped Seattle win the NBA championship. Overall, Sikma played on 11 Sonics teams that made the playoffs. He finished his career with five seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. Sikma put up over 17,000 points and was one of the first big men to effectively utilize an outside shot. After playing, he spent several years as an assistant coach with the Sonics, Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves. In addition to the Hall of Fame recognition, his jersey was retired by the Sonics and he is a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame.
