Hunter Mahan Biography

Hunter Mahan is a professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. Prior to his time as a professional, Mahan had a successful amateur career, and played collegiately at USC and Oklahoma State University. In 1999, Mahan won the 1999 U.S. Amateur while he was still in high school, and he earned various other amateur titles during his career, such as Pac 10 Freshman of the Year and Big 12 Player of the Year. Mahan turned professional in 2003, and earned his way onto the PGA Tour by going through qualifying school, competing on the tour for the last 11 years. Mahan finally broke through with his first career victory at the 2007 Travelers Championship, lifting him into the Top 100 rankings for the first time in his career. Mahan would go on to win five more events through his career, including two World Golf Championship Tournaments and a FedEx Cup Playoff Event. Mahan is currently one of the top golfers in the world, and looks to win his first major championship in the upcoming season.
