About Greg Oden
Seven-foot NBA star Greg Oden began his rise to stardom at Lawrence North High School when he led his team to an Indiana Class 4A State Championship in 2004. After high school he made his way to Ohio State University and established himself as one of the nation’s most dominant inside players, scoring 15.7 points and averaging 9.6 rebounds a game during his freshman year. Following his freshman season he was selected No. 1 overall in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, but due to injuries he saw limited time from 2008 to 2010. In 2013 the former top overall pick signed with the Miami Heat, who believe that he’ll return to top form in the future and bring continued success to their franchise. Outside of basketball Oden has served as an ambassador for several companies and has also appeared in the community on behalf of the Trail Blazers and Heat at community events.
