Enes Kanter Freedom

Enes Kanter had a successful youth basketball career and was offered numerous contracts to play professionally in Europe but he turned them down to play basketball in the United States with the dream of playing in the NBA. Kanter planned on playing college basketball at the University of Kentucky but since he had been paid by a professional team in the Turkish Basketball League he was ruled ineligible by the NCAA. Kanter played for the Turkish National Team in the FIBA U16 Championships and FIBA U18 Championships, both of which he was named MVP.

In 2011, Kanter reached his dream when he was drafted by the Utah Jazz.He had a career year when he joined the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2014, averaging 18.7 points and 11 rebounds per game. He continued to be one of the top big men in the game when he joined the New York Knicks in 2017. Kanter finished the 2019 season with the Portland Trail Blazers before signing with the Boston Celtics. In addition to his skills on the court, Kanter has become known for being outspoken on a number of humanitarian issues.
