About Grant McCasland
Grant McCasland is the head coach of Texas Tech men's basketball, where he has quickly revitalized the program since taking over in 2023. In just two seasons, he led the Red Raiders to a 51–20 record, including a 28–9 finish and an Elite Eight appearance in the 2024–25 NCAA Tournament . A former Baylor point guard, McCasland previously coached at North Texas, guiding the Mean Green to a 2023 NIT championship, and at Midland College, where he won an NJCAA national title in 2007. Known for his defensive-minded teams and strong leadership, McCasland signed a six-year, $31.5 million extension through 2031, solidifying his role as one of the nation's top coaches .
