About Francesca Piccinini
Francesca Piccinini is a volleyball player who has represented Italy at the Summer Olympics in 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012. Piccinini participated on the Women’s National Team that won the gold medal at the 2002 World Championship over Germany. Her debut for Italy took place on June 10, 1995 against the United States. Piccinini won the Most Valuable Player award while playing professionally for the Italian club Volley Bergamo when the team won the 2009-10 CEV Indesit Champions League title. At the 2014 World Championship, Piccinini played with the national team and they ended up in fourth place after losing to Brazil in the Bronze match. She won the 2004 FIVB World Grand Prix “Fair Play Award” and in 2009-10 she won the CEV Indesit Champions League Final Four “Most Valuable Player.” In 2004, she also appeared nude in a calendar that was published by the Italian magazine Men’s Health.
