About Heather Mitts
Heather Mitts is a retired professional soccer defender. She began her soccer career at the University of Florida, where she was an important part to the Gators NCAA championship in 1998. Mitts earned several awards and honors at UF, including multiple All-American honors and eventually being inducted into the University of Florida Hall of Fame. After graduating, Mitts played for the Tampa Bay Extreme, leaving the team after one season to join the Philadelphia Charge of the newly formed WUSA in 2001. The league folded in 2003, and she rejoined the W-League with the Central Florida Krush. Mitts has played for several club teams for multiple womenâs professional leagues, but her main accomplishments is with the United States womenâs national team. She has competed in three Olympics along with multiple international tournaments and a World Cup. In 2013, Mitts retired from soccer, and currently serves as a sideline reporter for the Philadelphia Union of the MLS.
