Eric Berry Biography

As the top cornerback in the nation and #3 player overall coming out of high school, Eric Berry had his choice of colleges to go to. He accepted a scholarship to the University of Tennessee where he became a starter right away, setting a Volunteer record for 222 return yards on 5 interceptions on his way to earning SEC Defensive Freshman of the Year honors. During his next two seasons, Berry continued to shine as he was named unanimous All-American both years capped with the Jim Thorpe Award after his junior year. Berry passed on his final year at Tennessee and was selected 5th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Berry was named starter for the Chiefs right away and had made 3 Pro-Bowls in his 4 seasons, only missing in 2011 due to an ACL tear. In the 2014 season, Berry complained about a pain in his chest and doctors found a mass in chest which they believe to be lymphoma.
