About Darrelle Revis
Darrelle Revis is on the shortlist for top cornerbacks in National Football League history. Before his career in the NFL began, Revis was a standout high school athlete who accepted a scholarship to play football for the University of Pittsburgh where he earned a spot on the field as a true freshman. After a First-Team Freshman All-American season, Revis continued to improve, earning two consecutive First-Team All-Big East selections and being named ESPNs College Football Player of the Year in 2006. Revis went on to be selected 14th overall in the 2007 NFL Draft by the New York Jets and earned the starting cornerback position as a rookie by the end of preseason. Revis made seven trips to the Pro Bowl and four appearances on the All-Pro First Team, as well as being named the AFC Defensive Player of the Year in 2009 and leading the NFL in interceptions in 2011. Revis nicknamed his spot on the field as Revis Island for his ability to lock down the opposing teams top wide receiver.
