About Boomer Esiason
Boomer Esiason played 14 seasons in the NFL with the Chicago Bengals, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and Cincinnati Bengals from 1984 to 1997. Prior to making it big in the NFL he starred as the quarterback at the University of Maryland, where he threw for 6,169 yards and 42 touchdowns in route to earning All-American honors in consecutive seasons in 1982 and 1983. After earning his degree in 1984 he headed to the Bengals as a second round pick and began a decorated pro career. During his career he was named the 1988 NFL MVP, earned NFL All-Pro honors in 1988, First Team All-AFC honors in 1988 and 1989 and was selected to four Pro Bowls. After retiring from football in 1997 he began a successful sports broadcasting career, and has announced every Super Bowl since 2000 while working at CBS. He has also served as a studio-analyst on The NFL Today on CBS and currently co-hosts the Boomer and Carton in the Morning show on the CBS Sports Network.
