About Dre Bly
Dre Bly is a retired NFL cornerback who spent 11 seasons in the league with four different teams. Prior to his time in the NFL, Bly was a standout defensive back at the University of North Carolina, leading the NCAA in interceptions with 11 during his freshman season. This performance earned Bly All American honors, becoming the sixth freshman to ever receive this honor. Bly was named an All American again during his sophomore season, becoming the first player in ACC and UNC history to earn this honor in consecutive seasons. Following his graduation from UNC, Bly was selected in the second round of the 1999 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams, playing with the team for four seasons, helping them win two NFC Championships and Super Bowl XXXIV. In 2003, Bly joined the Detroit Lions, having his best seasons in 2003 and 2004, earning two consecutive Pro Bowl nominations. After four seasons as a Lion, Bly played two seasons with the Denver Broncos before playing his last season with the San Francisco 49ers in 2009. Bly retired as a Lion in 2010 after a career in which he recorded 419 tackles and 43 interceptions.
