About Doug Glanville
Doug Glanville is a retired MLB outfielder who played nine seasons in the league with the Chicago Cubs, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Texas Rangers. Prior to his time in the MLB, Glanville attended the University of Pennsylvania, eventually being drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the first round of the 1991 MLB Draft. Five years later, Glanville would make his MLB debut, remaining with the team until he was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies prior to the 1998 season. Glanville’s best season came in 1999 when he batted .325 with 204 hits, 11 homeruns, and 34 stolen bases. Glanville would be traded to the Texas Rangers in 2003, playing half a season with the team before rejoining the Chicago Cubs midseason. In 2004, Glanville signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies, retiring with the team he grew up watching and had his best years with. Glanville ended his career with a .277 batting average and 1100 hits. In retirement, he spent time as an analyst for ESPN.
