DeWayne Walker

Before DeWayne Walker joined the Jacksonville Jaguars as their new defensive backs coach in 2013 he put together one of the most impressive coaching resumes in both professional and collegiate football.  In 1988 he began his coaching career at Mt. San Antonio Community College as the defensive backs coach and worked his way up to being named defensive coordinator in 1992.  From 1993 to 1995 he coached at Utah State, BYU, and Oklahoma State before heading to California for the 1996 and 1997 seasons.  That was when he got his big break into the NFL.  In 1998 the New England Patriots tapped Walker to coach their defensive backs, which led to future coaching gigs at USC in 2001, with the New York Giants in 2002 and 2003, and the Washington Redskins from 2004 to 2005.  Prior to heading to the Jags he coached three years at both UCLA and New Mexico State.  Walker’s bread and butter is on the defensive side of the ball.  His expertise has led to some of the best defensive backfields in the game, and his 26 years of coaching experience makes him one of the most respected names in all of football.
