About Devin Harris
Devin Harris made the most out of his NBA career, spending 15 seasons in the league. Harris played for six different franchises but is best remembered for his three stints with the Dallas Mavericks. He was also an All-Star with the New Jersey Nets in 2009, when he posted 21.3 points and 6.9 assists per game.
The Washington Wizards originally drafted Harris for the Mavs as part of a pre-arranged trade with the fifth overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. He had been the Big Ten Player of the Year and an All-American that year at the University of Wisconsin.
Harris has some fun distinctions, including owning the Guinness World Record for “fastest man with a basketball”, having run the length of a basketball court in 3.9 seconds. He also owns over 400 pairs of sneakers.
In 2009, Harris was awarded NBA’s Community Assist Award for his work through his organization, 34 Ways to Assist. He is currently a broadcaster for the Mavericks on Bally Sports Southwest.
