About Desi Relaford
Desi Relaford is a native of Valdosta, Georgia and was one of the premier defensive players in the major leagues from 1996 to 2007. During his time in the bigs he was a journeyman, seeing time with the Phillies, Padres, Mets, Mariners, Royals and Rangers. Known for his versatility, Relaford played every position on the field except first base and catcher during his career and was a top option for managers as a defensive replacement and speedster on the bases. Relaford’s best year came in 2001 when he hit .302 with 8 homeruns and 27 doubles while playing for the New York Mets. He even pitched for in a game for the Mets that season. When his career came to an end he moved on and remained as versatile as ever. He now lives in Jacksonville, Florida and owns and operates 6 Hole Records, a hip-hop record label that specializes in up and coming talent.
