About Derrick Williams
Derrick Williams is a talented young NBA forward out of La Mirada, California. After a stellar high school career he played at the University of Arizona. From 2008 to 2011 he starred for the Wildcats, earning Pac-10 Player of the Year honors and First Team All-American honors as a sophomore in 2011. After his sophomore season he declared for the NBA Draft and after displaying his explosive hops, consistent outside shot and an aggressiveness he was selected 2nd overall in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
In his first year with the Timberwolves he was as advertised, earning NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors, competing in the 2012 Rising Stars Challenge and the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend Slam Dunk Contest. After three solid years in Minnesota he made his way to the Sacramento Kings. Off the court the young six-foot-eight star enjoys participating in camps and events that represent both his city and the franchise.
