About David Toms
David Toms is the pride of Monroe, Louisiana and played his college golf at Louisiana State University. As a youngster he won the 1984 Junior World Golf Championship and was a key contributor on the Airline High School golf team. After a stellar career at LSU he turned pro in 1989 and earned his PGA Tour card two years later in 1991. In 1995 he joined the Web.com Tour and won the Greater Greenville Classic and the Wichita Open during his first season. The following year he re-joined the PGA Tour and has since won 13 times on golf’s grandest stage, including a win at the 2001 PGA Championship after finishing 4th at the 2000 Open Championship. His other top finishes in majors came in 1998 when he finished 6th at the Masters Tournament and in 2012 when he finished 4th at the U.S. Open. During his career he reached a career high ranking of 5th on the Official World Golf Ranking twice in 2002 and 2003 and was featured in the top 10 for 175 weeks between 2001 and 2006.
