About Dave Rose
Dave Rose has had one of the most successful runs of any coach in BYU basketball history. In 14 seasons, the Cougars went to the NCAA Tournament eight times. After three consecutive one and done appearances in March Madness, Rose guided BYU to their first tournament victory in 17 years in 2010. While they are now in the West Coast Conference, the Cougars won four regular-season titles in the Mountain West Conference in his early years of coaching. Rose was also named MWC Coach of the Year three times. Prior to becoming the head coach, he was an assistant at BYU for several years. Rose got into collegiate coaching at Dixie College, where he was an assistant and then put in charge of the program. He also dabbled in high school coaching after graduation from the University of Houston. While a player with the Cougars, he was co-captain of the famed “Phi Slama Jama” team that was the 1983 national runner-up.
