About Darryl Sittler
Darryl Sittler played 16 seasons in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers and Detroit Red Wings. During his career he was one of the premier goal scorers in the league, tallying 484 goals and adding 637 assists for a total of 1,121 points in 1,096 career games. In the post season, he was just as good, scoring 29 goals and registering 45 assists for a total of 74 points in 76 games. Sittler still holds the NHL record for points in a single game, having scored six goals and adding four assists in a game against the Boston Bruins in 1976. He knew from a young age that hockey was what he wanted to do with his life. When he was selected with the eighth overall pick in the 1970 NHL Draft by the Maple Leafs he made that dream come true and made good on his promise to become one of the best players to ever play the game. In 1989 he was honored for his contributions to the game with induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame and went on to be enshrined in the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
