Danny Amendola

Danny Amendola is an NFL wide receiver who currently plays for the Houston Texans.Prior to his time in the NFL, Amendola played collegiately at Texas Tech, playing four seasons for the Red Raiders. Over his career at Texas Tech, Amendola recorded 204 receptions for 2,246 yards and 15 touchdowns, along with over 1,000 punt return yards. In his freshman 2004 season, Amendola was named First Team Big 12 as a punt return specialist, making the team again in 2005 and in 2007. Following his graduation, Amendola entered the 2008 NFL Draft but went undrafted, eventually signing with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent. Amendola would bounce around on the Cowboys’ and Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squads for the next season until being signed by the St. Louis Rams. During his rookie season, Amendola caught 43 passes for 326 yards, with his main forte being kick returning. Over the next few seasons, Amendola would emerge as a top deep threat for the Rams, performing well enough to sign with the New England Patriots for the 2013 season. Amendola’s role was to replace former Patriot Wes Welker, and he became one of Tom Brady’s favorite targets.He went on to win two Super Bowls in five seasons in New England. Amendola spent the 2018 season with the Miami Dolphins before joining the Lions.
