About Dan Cnossen
Dan Cnossen was a breakout star of the 2018 Paralympics, winning six medals in cross-country skiing and biathlon in a span of eight days. That impressive achievement earned him Best Male Athlete of the Games. Outside of his athletic career, Cnossen has a simply amazing background that inspires his speaking career. He was accepted into the U.S. Naval Academy and spent four years pursuing Navy SEAL training. Cnossen then saw multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and eventually became the officer-in-charge of an 18-man SEAL platoon. In 2009, during a night mission in the mountains of Afghanistan, he stepped on an IED and lost both legs. Due to his commendable service, Cnossen was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star with Valor. Even though he suffered a life-changing injury and had to go through over 40 surgeries, Cnossen still was able to join the U.S. Paralympic team in 2014 and earn two graduate degrees from Harvard University.
