About Michelle Kwan
Michelle Kwan is a five-time World Champion, two-time Olympic medalist and nine time United States Champion, making her the most decorated female figure skater in U.S. history. After earning the Silver Medal at the 1998 Nagano Olympic Games she earned a Bronze Medal at the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics and became one of the most popular figure skaters in the world. From 1996 to 2005 she dominated on the national and international figure skating circuit, winning the World Championship in 1996, 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2003 and the United States Championship in 1996 and then eight consecutive times from 1998 to 2005. In 2006 she was forced to withdraw from the Olympics due to an injury, however she went on to earn her undergraduate degree from the University of Denver and complete her masters degree in law and diplomacy at Tufts University. She currently works in the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
