Daewon Song

Daewon Song is most commonly recognized as an American professional skateboarder born in Korea. While he moved to the United States early on in his life and was raised in Gardena, California, Song revealed that he took up skateboarding throughout his childhood to get away from his fighting parents. He became sponsored by the age of 16 by World Industries and began to obtain fame by appearing in numerous video productions. In his early twenties, he founded a clothing line known as Matrix Clothing and continued to look for new ways to break through different parts of the industry while he carried out his passion for skateboarding. In one of the most widely known skating magazines known as Thrasher magazine, Song was named the 2006 Skater of the Year. He went on to release signature shoe models and found several other companies, including Deca Skateboards and Artafact. He even entered into a partnership with Ryan Schlecker for a period of time and also made apperances in video games. Song certainly made a name for himself in the skateboarding world and continues to pursue his dreams and look for new ways to impact the world each and every day.
