About D'Angelo Russell
D’Angelo Russell is an All-Star guard for the Dallas Mavericks. Russell first broke out with the Nets in 2019, making his first All-Star team, finishing the season averaging over 21 points per game and leading the franchise to the playoffs.
Russell was originally selected by the Los Angeles Lakers as the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Before jumping to the pros, he was a scoring machine at Ohio State.His ability to drop buckets as a freshman led to consensus first-team All-American honors.Russell was also a first-team All-Big Ten pick and the conference’s Freshman of the Year.His 19.3 points per game led all Division 1 freshmen.
In the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, Russell led the Buckeyes to victory with 28 points against VCU. He chose Ohio State coming out of powerhouse Montverde Academy. Montverde went 55-2 in Russell’s final two seasons and won the Dick’s Sporting Goods High School National Tournament each time. As a senior, he was a McDonald’s All-American. Russell is originally from Louisville, Kentucky.
