Craig Simpson

Craig Simpson, a Canadian ice hockey player, is known for his decade as a player in the NHL. Splitting his decade between the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Edmonton Oilers, and the Buffalo Sabres, Simpson was ultimately chosen as the second overall pick in the 1985 NHL Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins. He grew up in London, Ontario Canada loving the sport of hockey and moved to the U.S., where he attended Michigan State University. Simpson played for the Michigan State Spartans for two seasons before he debuted professionally. He also has a history in coaching and broadcasting, both of which he turned to after retiring from the NHL in 1986. He joined the coaching staff of his former Edmonton Oilers for the ’05-’06 season to lead the team to the Stanley Cup Finals. Simpson also joined FOX television as a hockey analyst, CTV Sportsnet and CBC television as a color commentator, along with EA Sports NHL franchise as a color commentator. Currently, Simpson continues to broadcast, most recently being involved in telecasts out of Canada known as Hockey In Night in Canada.
