Chris Mullin Biography

Growing up in New York, Chris Mullin would often make trips to play basketball in the Bronx and Harlem in pursuit of the toughest competition. He quickly made a reputation as one of New York’s top ball players and made it official by being named New York’s Mr. Basketball as a senior in high school. Mullin then attended St. John’s University where he won Big East Player of the Year honors three times with a career average of 19.5 ppg. While in college, Mullin was selected to play for Team USA in the 1984 Olympics where he helped bring home his first gold medal. Following his collegiate career, Mullin began his professional career with the Golden State Warriors when he was drafted 7th overall in the 1985 NBA Draft. Mullin played 17 seasons in the NBA, the majority with the Warriors, averaging 18.2 ppg and was selected to 5 All-Star games. In 1992, Mullin made his second trip to the Olympics as a member of “The Dream Team”, winning his second gold medal. Mullin is a double inductee into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame (once as an individual and once as a member of The Dream Team) and served for several seasons as the general manager of his former team.
