About Dominique Wilkins
Dominique Wilkins joined the Atlanta Hawks in 1982 after a stellar collegiate career at the University of Georgia in which he earned SEC Player of the Year honors in 1981. During his 15-year career in the NBA he earned nine All-Star selections and seven NBA All-Pro nods. One of the most prolific scorers of all-time, Wilkins led the NBA in scoring in 1986 and is the Atlanta Hawks all-time leading scorer. Much of his notoriety was earned during the All-Star break at the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, which he won twice in 1985 and 1990. Wilkins also played overseas during his career, suiting up for Panathinaikos in Greece in 1995 and Fortitudo Bologna in Italy in 1997 and 1998. Due to the huge dunks and explosive moves to the basket he became known as “The Human Highlight Film”. In 2006 his contributions to the NBA and the game of basketball were honored with induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
