Walt Frazier

Walt Frazier is one of the most beloved sportsmen and cherished New York sports personalities of all-time. Frazier was the point guard on the New York Knicks only two NBA championship teams in 1970 and 1973. His jersey hangs retired in the rafters of Madison Square Garden and he was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987. Frazier was a seven-time All-Star, six-time All-NBA pick, and was named to the NBA’s All-Defensive first team seven times. Due to his flashy play and infectious personality, he endeared himself to an entire generation of sports fans. The Knicks originally selected Frazier with the fifth pick in the 1967 NBA Draft. Playing collegiately at Southern Illinois University, he was twice a Division II All-American. Frazier’s play while leading the Salukis to the 1967 NIT Championship at The Garden largely prompted the Knicks to select him. His high profile sports career in the country’s largest media market has led to many corporate sponsorship opportunities over the years. Frazier is currently the analyst for Knicks games on MSG Network.
