About Chris Hoy
Chris Hoy is a retired track cyclist and one of Britain’s greatest Olympians. Renowned for his explosive power, Hoy won six Olympic gold medals and one silver across four Games (2000–2012), excelling in sprint events like the keirin and team sprint. He claimed 11 world championship medals, including six golds, and briefly held world records in the 500m flying start and team sprint. Knighted in 2009 for his contributions to sport, Hoy’s achievements helped elevate cycling’s profile in the UK. After retiring in 2013, he transitioned into motorsport, competing in events like the Le Mans 24 Hours, and became a broadcaster and author. A passionate advocate for fitness and mental health, Hoy’s legacy inspires athletes worldwide. His autobiography, “Hoy: The Autobiography”, details his journey from junior rower to cycling legend.
