About Chris Collins
After a lengthy assistant coaching tenure at his alma mater Duke, Chris Collins was given the opportunity to turn around Northwestern basketball in 2013. Collins spent over a decade on Mike Krzyzewski’s bench and was named an associate head coach in 2008. He actually started his coaching career with the WNBA’s Detroit Shock before a two year run as an assistant at Seton Hall. Collins was a team captain at Duke and a second-team All-ACC performer as a senior. He graduated from Glenbrook North High School where he was a McDonald’s All-American and Mr. Basketball in the state of Illinois. The coaching genes run through the Collins family as his father Doug was a long-time NBA head coach.
