About CC Sabathia
C.C. Sabathia was one of the greatest pitchers of his generation. Sabathia was a workhorse, winning 251 games and striking out over 3,000 batters during his 19-year career. He was a six-time All-Star who originally debuted with the Cleveland Indians in 2001. Sabathia reached the peak of his Indians tenure in 2007, when he won the American League Cy Young Award after posting a 19-7 record, 3.21 ERA and leading the league with 241 innings pitched. The following season, Sabathia was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers during the season and pitched lights out in helping them reach the playoffs. In the offseason, he signed a free-agent deal with the New York Yankees and he would spend the rest of his career in pinstripes. Sabathia was again a playoff hero in 2009 when he won ALCS MVP and helped the Yankees win the World Series. He also led baseball in wins during the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Sabathia officially announced his retirement from baseball in 2019.
