About Mark McGwire
Mark McGwire, also known as “Big Mac” is widely considered to have lived up to his title granted in 1999 as one of the 100 Greatest Baseball Players. After being traded to the St. Louis Cardinals for the final four seasons of his playing career, McGwire retired only to return to the St. Louis Cardinals as hitting coach. Throughout his playing career, McGwire was very well known for his homeruns, with some of the highlights of his career including being the Home Run Derby winner in 1992 and leading the major leagues in home runs in 1997. In addition to playing and coaching professional baseball, McGwire also stepped foot in the limelight while appearing in an episode of the sitcom Mad About You and voicing for an episode of The Simpsons entitled “Brother’s Little Helper” as himself.
