Bryan Clay

Bryan Clay grew up in Austin, Texas and took his talents to Azusa Pacific University in college where he became one of the top decathletes in the nation.  In 2004 Clay burst onto the scene with a silver medal win at the 2004 World Indoor Championships and then went on to capture a silver medal for the USA in the decathlon at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.  The following year he won his first World Championship in the decathlon and then captured another silver medal at the 2006 World Indoor Championships.  Heading into he 2007 season he was a lock to win gold again at the World Championships but was plagued by injuries.  However, that did not stop him from capturing a gold medal in the decathlon at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.  With his win he became an American hero, and spoke at the 2008 Republican National Convention later that year.  Since 2008 he’s remained one of the top competitors in the world, capturing two more gold medals at the heptathlon at the World Indoor Championships.
