Bruiser Flint Biography

Bruiser Flint played his college basketball at Saint Joseph’s University from 1983 to 1987 and became an assistant at Coppin State University immediately after earning his degree from Saint Joseph’s.  After two years at Coppin State he became an assistant at the University of Massachusetts and eventually worked his way up to being named head coach at UMass in 1996.  During his time as the head coach at UMass he led his teams to a combined 86-72 record and two NCAA tournament appearances.  In 1998 he was named the NABC District Coach of the Year. In 2001 Drexel University hired Flint as their new head coach.  Through 2014 he has led Drexel to 228 wins and become a four-time Colonial Athletic Association Coach of the Year recipient while also earning three more NABC District Coach of the Year honors in 2007, 2009 and 2012.  He has also led Drexel to five appearances in the NIT and a regular season championship in 2012.
